AVOID! No communication!
I have had an awful experience with Stirling Ackroyd Streatham, they do not respond to emails, promise to callback and you don't hear anything. I asked for a formal complaint to be raised which they ignored until I chased them for it, they asked if they had resolved the complaint (after doing nothing) I confirmed it was not resolved and should have heard back within 3 days this was nearly a month ago. I would never use them or recommend using them the treatment you will receive is appalling.

I rented a property through Stirling Ackroyd for 3 years which they also managed. I would recommend against anyone using them if avoidable. Throughout our tenancy, they ignored issues such as flooding from flats above and rectifying water damage as well as addressing persistent issues with damp (even as we did everything we could to combat it).

They also failed on multiple occasions to share updated entry codes to the building for days after update, often leaving us unable to gain access to the building without support from our neighbours.

Finally, on moving out over the summer, the flat was cleaned to the same standard we received it in yet we were charged for a further professional clean as the landlords wanted to do works to the property in between lets (I live nearby and could see it was occupied by the landlords due to lights being on late into the evening - Stirling ackroyd allowed them to keep the flat in a pretty shoddy state, including doing very amateur painting jobs and repair).

They also tried to leave utilities and council tax in our name in the two week interim between lets - I had to call to each utility and the council to rectify this. The council mentioned this was on the request of the property owner. A terrible service, would recommend pretty much any other estate agent over them.

I would not recommend this firm. My experience as a landlord with the lettings section in Woking/West Byfleet was extremely unsatisfactory. They did not follow instructions, were slow, inefficient, failed to give timely or (at times) any advice, and even now are not following their own complaints procedures! A very frustrating experience.

I do appreciate customer care responding to this review but I have already been in contact with customer care and we are now moving onto a formal complaint to the Property Ombudsman. Stirling Ackroyd were responsible for my property for 7 months only (they took over my appointed letting agents) but in that time it was just a catalogue of inefficiencies, ignoring instructions and just general hopeless managing skills on their part. I would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER
recommend this firm for anything.

I note customer care's response to my review and that it is almost word for word the same response as to their other bad reviews. Wake up customer care! It is not enough to say you take customer care seriously but you must also act on negative reviews and do something for your unhappy customers. Otherwise your response is meaningless.

I have been in regular contact with Joel for a while now, and I am always impressed by his professionalism and enthusiasm. He reaches out to me a few times a year, and I genuinely enjoy receiving his calls.
He is incredibly friendly and approachable, making every interaction pleasant and worthwhile. His enthusiasm is infectious, and he has a great ability to balance professionalism with a personable approach.
I particularly appreciate the time he takes to discuss the state of the housing market, sharing insightful information that is both relevant and helpful. His knowledge of the industry is evident, and he always seems genuinely happy to share his expertise and answer any questions I might have.
In addition to his professional knowledge, what sets him apart is his proactive approach to engagement. It’s clear that he values building long-term relationships, not just transactional ones.
I believe his skills, attitude, and dedication make him a true asset to Stirling Ackroyd, and I have no doubt he will excel in any role in the business.

Keo was hands down the best agent I’ve spoken to so far. Highly recommend him as an agent, helpful, knowledgeable and super patient considering I’ve never purchased a property before!

It was a very difficult time for me, my mother had just passed and her house needed to be sold. I dealt mainly with Joel Gooden at the beginning and he was excellent in explaining everything to me, keeping me informed. The rest of the team were amazing, informative, helpful and made the process one less thing I needed to worry about. Very happy with the service and more than happy to recommend.

My energy contract was taken over by an energy company without my consent and without Informing me. When I challenged them, they said that my letting agent for the property in this case one of Stirling Ackroyd agents had given my details to a partnership that has an agreement with the energy company. I was not very happy about this as this energy contract transfer has caused issues for me. The letting agency obviously has this agreement. I found it shocking that they told this partnership the date that my flat was going to be empty and when to take over the energy supply without notifying me and without my express consent. I received an expalnation about what happened and okay with explanation.

Ellis was really helpful in arranging viewings

Give you no option but to use ‘Tink’ as a financial guarantor stating sensitive data outside of the UK. Even when you select the manual option it prompts you immediately they have been unable to obtain a reference when it has only been requested of the nominated referee. This should be investigated by an independent Ombudsman or Which Magazine.

The Stirling Ackroyd Streatham estate agents team (Lee, Wayne, Hussain & headed up by Anthony) were all extremely professional, friendly and experts in the London housing market and monthly trends. The process of selling a property in the UK is not an easy one but they remained dedicated and committed to completing the sale using their negotiating skills to ensure you achieved your desired price whilst being supportive throughout the whole time. Highly recommended!

Stirling Ackroyd are a very professional, helpful and extremely responsive Surveyors.

I have been liaising with Ryan Johnson at Stirling Akroyd for a few years now. He is friendly, confident & comes through for me every time, going above & beyond. Will use him again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

We purchased a house via Sterling Ackroyd in Twickenham, Richard the sales manager was superb from start to finish. During the transaction we were passed to a sales progressor which we were a bit sceptical about however the service/ communication we received from Sandra was excellent.

Ellis was extremely helpful and informative!

I owned two new build properties in the Witton area which were taken over by LPA receivers whilst almost completing exchange of contracts.

The LPA receivers appointed Stirling Ackroyd and did not appoint anyone in competition which in my opinion should have been done.

Sterling Ackroyd stated over a period of 4 to 6 months that they were unable to find a buyer and that they could only find buyers for the properties £90,000 below its actual market value that they were being sold for.

It seems that the sales reps either lack experience or this is a sale of serious convenience !!

The properties were sold without a completion certificate in place, therefore an illegal transaction.

The buyers of one of the houses were told they could remove the disability ramp, which they did. This is a condition of the completion certificate and local authority requirements and therefore a legal requirement.

Both the LPA receivers, and Stirling Ackroyd were fully aware of this fact.

Perhaps they need to explain to the new owners that they will need to rebuild the disability ramp at their expense. There are other factors still to be complied with in return to obtain a completion certificate.

I spoke to Ellis Craig this morning when I was trying to book in a house viewing. He was very nice, helpful and happy and was able to get the branch to offer me a viewing at a time to suit me. Thank you
