An Awesome Trip!
I have nothing but great things to say about Costa Rica Expeditions. The trip they put together for my wife and me was excellent. The logistics for our trip were fairly complicated as we stayed in 5 different locations over the course of a 10-day trip including San Jose, Tortuguero, Arenal, Monteverde, and Playa Hermosa. The drivers between locations were all excellent and all of them spoke English very well which was a blessing for us as we don't speak any Spanish. We ended up having some very nice conversations with them during our trips. All of the hotels they picked out for us were great and the service at the two owned by CRE (Tortuga Lodge and Monteverde Lodge) was excellent. Our trip had just the right amount of scheduled activities and free time. The guided tours CRE setup for us were great with very knowledgeable guides. Every evening we received an e-mail or hardcopy of the itinerary for the next day. We always felt like everything was under control. A fantastic experience from beginning…
A fantastic experience from beginning to end! Through multiple exchanges, they helped us create a perfect itinerary for my family with two kids based upon on our interests. Once we made our travel arrangements, they kept in touch with us, making sure we made the proper preparations. The trip itself was so memorable. Of particular note was the fact that EVERY guide we had was great: friendly, well-informed, and not just reciting from a memorized script. I would recommend them with absolutely no reservations.

Costa Rican Expeditions was excellent! All the drivers and tour guides were top notch. We said that we would like to have opportunities to practice Spanish and our guides and drivers were very accommodating. I felt like the drivers were being especially careful to speak slowly and were so patient with our awkward Spanish. They kept us so well informed, things didn't always happen according to the proposed itinerary. And even if they anticipated being 5 minutes late, there was a call to the hotel front desk. Our accommodations were excellent. We had view rooms that were spacious and very well appointed. We felt like we lacked for nothing. We had an amazing experience.

They planned an excellent trip for us
They planned an excellent trip for us. Everything was detailed out for us before we left, including hotels, meals, local air transport, local SUV pick ups, entrance into state parks and local places of interest.
Each day we would receive both email and written instructions of the detailed itinery for the next day and what time our guides would pick us up. They were always on time.
I thought our trip was a good value for our money and I would recommend Costa Rica Expeditions. I f we ever go back to Costa Rica, I would not hesitate to use them again.

Excellent Service !!
We just completed a wonderful 13 days birding trip with Charlie and Nino . Both Charlie and Nino are by far the perfect duo for efficient birding and each take care of individuals who need extra assistance. They are both patient, attentive, very detailed, and mindful of the birds and environment. Their experience contributed to an outstanding experience.
The planer Douglas also give us strong support and suggestions on arranging our schedule.
I'll share this wonderful experience to all my friends and wishing I can visit Costa Rica again !!

First time using Costa Rica Expeditions was February, 2020. We would use them again, both hotels they recommended were excellent, transportation drivers were professional and the thing that stood out to most to us was the excellent knowledge our tour guides had at both Arenal and Monte Verde.

Excellent Company
This was the second time that we have asked Costa Rica Expeditions to plan a vacation in Costa Rica for us. There was a lengthy back and forth email communication while we discussed what to include in our vacation. Every email, every question was answered almost immediately. The booking process was easy once we determined our itinerary.
The trip itself was wonderful. Guides extremely knowledgeable, professional and great to be with. They were also flexible. We felt safe with our drivers.
Communication with us could not have been better. We knew every day how to dress, what to expect, when to be ready and guides and drivers were always on time. I would recommend this company to anyone.

We had a great vacation to Costa Rica for 10 days, all planned by Costa Rica Expeditions. Everything was planned perfectly to match our desires for this trip.
