3rd Trip with Costa Rica Expeditions. We have total confidence. One was a guided group trip to three areas using their properties. This is a must do if you value wildlife at its best. We then visited Corcovado and returned to Arenal this time. They communicate with you easily during the trip and make great efforts to achieve an outstanding experience. A well run and organised travel company. The experience from first contact and designing a custom holiday to experiencing all the arrangements being in place at every stage was first rate.
We had a great set of activities recommended which fitted exactly what we wanted to see and do - some exceeding expectations. All of the guides were good too.

We had an amazing trip to Costa Rica thanks to Costa Rica Expeditions. We were scheduled to go to Puerto Rico but had to change plans due to the earthquake. On short notice, Costa Rica Expeditions prepared an itinerary that addressed all our interests. They selected wonderful hotels and fun expeditions. Their drivers and guides were top notch and our vacation went of without a hitch. I highly recommend the company.

Excellent way to go to Costa Rica
We used Costa Rica Expeditions to set up our itinerary for an 8 day trip to Costa Rica with our adult sons. We stayed in Monteverde, Arenal and Tamarindo Beach.
All the transportation was handled seamlessly and there was a lot of traveling between locations. For instance, from Monteverde, there was a driver to take us to Lake Arenal, then a private boat picked us up at Lake Arenal that took us across the lake to La Fortuna, then another driver picked us up to take us to the hotel near Arenal Volcano. We never waited for a moment the entire trip. They were great drivers. The guides they set up for our excursions were also great.
Their customer service is exceptional. And we ran into some issues with the hotel in Tamarindo that was not their fault and they nonetheless handled it with such grace and professionalism.
Couldn’t recommend them more.

As you mention, all sort of logistics like transportation from one spot to the next one might be tricky and a bit unpredictable. Driving in Costa Rica is not easy, even as a small country. We are glad that our drivers really show mastery and knowledge of the roads and waterways.

30 anniversary in Costa Rica
Guides were fantastic, day events were will organized and safe. We were given schedules the night before that were very thorough on times, what to wear and if food was provided. The hotel accommodations were very nice and staff very polite and friendly. Food was excellent. Very well orgenized, which allowed us to relax and enjoy our trip.
A couple issues we had, one when we landed at San Jose, we didn't know what to do, as we were thinking someone would help us get to the hotel. We needed to contact the hotel and arrange a shuttle. Not using international calling before, this was a bit confusing. It would have been much better if someone showed up and guided us on getting to the hotel.
Second, going through immigration, we were not prepared to have the correct documents, including return flight information, hotel name and address we're staying at that night. It would be great if this were mentioned in the trip preparation materials.
Our last stay was at Arenal volcano. This volcano you can only see it's peak a few times a year. It would be good to let people know that, depending when they are there, they probably won't see the peak.
In general, we were very satisfied with our trip.

I am sorry to hear that you had a complicated and confusing time once your flight landed in San Jose. On behalf of our Company we apologize for the inconvenience caused by the fact of not knowing how to reach the first hotel and also the lack of important information that should be in your trip preparation documents.
Regarding your visit to the Arenal Volcano area nature can be very unpredictable and in the special case of the Tropics weather forecasts are not reliable. Even if you come in the "correct" time of the year sometimes you miss the volcano peak. You should come back again to see it clearly!

Dream family vacation
Costa Rica Expeditions set up our family of 5 with the best vacation ever! We traveled from Monteverde, to Arenal and to The Osa Peninsula. All our accommodations were wonderful, transfers smooth and guides expert. A special shout out to Casa Corcovado for the most remote and beautiful place I have ever seen!
I am delighted that they planned our no stress vacation over Christmas break 2019!

Best Vacation I have ever had.
It had been years since I had a vacation. My first vacation with myself. From the moment I landed, everything and I mean everything was done for me. My luggage had been collected, my transportation was waiting. I had a wonderful driver who told me about the area. I was heading to Monteverde and the ride was spectacular. Beautiful scenery, rustic dirt roads lead to amazing views and then...look up there were monkeys 😀
I arrived at the Monteverde Lodge...I have never felt so at home anywhere. The Lodge is spotless, beautiful. The rooms are spacious. Peaceful. The restaurant serves top notch delicious food. Don't miss the gardens or the on-site hiking. The ladies at the front desk were exceeding kind and helpful.
My trip to the Cloud Forest delivered me to a true adventure. I loved every minute. Wonderful naturalist, who was knowledgeable and fun. I LOVE hummingbirds and I'd go anywhere to see them. I saw many of the most beautiful varieties while drinking hot cocoa.
I took an entire day to rest and take in the beauty of this resort. I walked to the orchid gardens. While it was off season for many orchids, I saw many orchids, air plants and I was guided by a very knowledgeable man. Great place.
Then it was on to LA Fortuna, and the , El Silencio del Campo. Individual cabins, spotless, comfortable, super nice. Arenal Volcano is directly across the street from the cabins. Amazing. While here I enjoyed, a river cruise, the rainforest and the Arenal Hanging Bridges...all with exceptional and informative naturalist.
Trust me, I had the time of my life. My only complaint was this trip was far too short. I can fix that by coming back, hopefully very soon. Everyone I encountered was so kind and did everything to assure my trip was a dream. They succeeded. 😁

Travelling on your own can be challenging at first, even a little frightening if its your first time. I am pleased to know that Costa Rica Expeditions did everything so nothing is left to chance.
We are thrilled to hear that our Monteverde Lodge exceeded your expectations with our sense of relaxing atmosphere, homey feeling and friendly and caring hotel Staff. The Lodge is immersed in the magical cloud forest were time seems to stop, and you can enjoy your leisure time with a stroll around the hummingbird garden or amusing your senses with all the diversity of orchids. Our Restaurant El Jardin is an excellent option for top service and delicious meals as well.
By the way, how wonderful it is to explore nature with a experienced and very knowledgeable nature guide. How many little lifeforms are there just hidden to be discovered? they are as we know them your eyes in the forest.

Our experience with Costa Rica Expeditions was perfect. They arranged for lodging and transportation for the our trip to the eastern side of Costa Rica.
