Avoid Rias Insurance…

Avoid Rias Insurance rias-insurance.co.uk now selling insurance through Ageas

On three occasions, I have tried to call Rias payment line and have been put on hold while in Denmark, where I work and partially live to pay a bill that is for £30.15

Tuesday 4th - 35 minutes
Thursday 20th - 20 minutes

Then yesterday, Friday the 4th of November and was on the line for one hour and ten minutes. This was as I drove from Dundee to Aberdeen; this is ridiculous and unacceptable, considering they make threats about affecting my credit if it is not paid on time.

However, I have incurred unnecessary phone payments due to roaming charges. This is unacceptable.

I have asked in two previous emails for bank details to make the payment, although they do not accept bank transfer payments.

They have asked for a cheque; I don’t think many people have these anymore.

Avoid RIAS Insurance at all costs, I am just glad I do not have a claim to make.

EVEN ADMIT TO CALLERS THEY MAY HAVE TO WAIT 4 MINUTES OR MORE!!! AND THIS FOR HOMECOVER WHERE PEOPLE ARE OFTEN FACING EMERGENCIES
DON'T INSURE WITH THIS COMPANY-WHEN YOU NEED THEM THEY DON'T EVEN SPEAK TO CLIENTS BUT OFFER A RETURN CALL WHICH DOES NOT TRANSPIRE!!!

Utterly useless "Emergency" 'service.

I discovered a leak in the ceiling of my house. I have Home Insurance with RIAS, including home emergency.
I called RIAS on 2nd November and after 15 minutes, my call was answered. A plumber was despatched and arrived within five hours. On inspection, the leak was identified as a damaged roof. The plumber submitted report on-line to suggest sending a roofer.
I then submitted an on-line 'claim' explaining this. No reply. Now, I have been hanging on the phone for 43 minutes but still no response.
Why has RIAS been allowed to claim a five star defaqto rating when this company is incapable of responding to a "Home Emergency" in (now) over FIFTY MINUTES (and still, holding)?
APPALLING SERVICE. PLEASE STOP THEM CLAIMING A FIVE STAR RATING.

Saying not covered. Rip off company!

My roof is leaking and caused damage inside my property. Been told I’m not covered so sort it out myself! What’s the point in having buildings and contents insurance if neither things are covered! Rip off!

'Rias' don't pay out on 'Top Cash Back'.

I went with Rias for my home insurance, I haven't had to claim on my insurance so I don't know how good (or bad) they would be if I did.

I went through 'Top Cash Back' and had £25 pending for many months, then one day I checked and my £25 cash back had been declined with no reason given and no communication.

And 'Top Cash Back' were of no help what so ever either.

So 'Rias' don't give cash back, not on 'Top Cash Back' anyway ... So if you don't want to be scammed stay clear of RIAS.

Inability to renew or take a simple payment

So I am an existing customer wishing to renew. The card on file has expired so I need to give them the new one to pay. The hold time is over an hour continuously and every 90 seconds they suggest you go online where you can renew... except you cant, there is no payment portal and even their letter tells me I have to call them. What an utter waste of time. I emailed the so called customer assistance only to get the stock " answers within 3 working days". I finally got through to a very helpful lady working from home so it is finally sorted buy boy was it a painful experience... unnecessarily.

Sold my car so no longer needed car…

Sold my car so no longer needed car insurance, tried to contact them on several occasions but no response, now been told i have an outstanding balance which includes a £50 cancellation charge plus an cancellation admin charge and any other charge they can pluck out the air. Absolute rogue traders do not entertain.

This company doesn’t listen but instead…

This company doesn’t listen but instead has patronising, antagonising, ignorant people who have no empathy but choose to take their attitude out on you when they’ve sent an email which leaves you unsure as to whether you are insured or not. Disgusting service, not worth the stress or the attitude you will be given should you choose to go with them. All I rang for was to check my insurance validity. What I got was an angry telephonist, who doesn’t realise that he’s meant to be helping worried customers not trying to instigate an argument. He had no idea how to actually speak to worried customers. The bloke I spoke with this morning wanted an argument and was aggressive from the start. All I wanted to do was cancel after a night and day spent worrying myself sick. I’m now insured without worrying about it. Having had a previous year of great insurance I should have stayed with who I had been with. Lesson learned!

Bereavement Notification

I am trying to contact RIAS to inform them of my mother's death as her house is now empty. Unlike other organisations that I am contacting I can't find a dedicated bereavement contact number. I have called several of the different numbers shown on their website as the automated 'bot' was of no help whatsoever. You have to navigate through multiple irrelevant messages to finally come to the same main menu of options no matter which telephone contact number you use. They then inform you that there is normally a 30/40 minute wait. That is absolutely disgusting. Since when did a company think it is OK to have that as their average response time. I held on and each time they confirmed there was over a 30 minute wait. This is unbelievable.

My mother had duel insurance with rias…

My mother had duel insurance with rias and rac she is 80 and didn’t realise she had been paying it for 5 years when I got intn touch with insurance Rac paid but rias hasn’t still waiting 3 months later cannot get in touch with customer service they no answer phone ivy emailed them and was supposed to get a reply within 3 working days terrible communication will never use these again

Avoid at all costs

Do not deal with Rias.

Had been insured with this company for a few years. Shortly before the renewal date had a letter stating that they could no longer insure my property because the criteria had changed. I rang to try to sort the problem and spoke to one of the most unhelpful people who could not help. All he kept saying was that the criteria had changed but had not got the information to tell me why they could not insure a three year old property and just kept repeating this. After putting the phone down I managed to contact another broker and got better insurance for half the cost of my last years premium.
I would not recommend this company to anyone and in fact would tell people to stay away from a very unhelpful company.

Never again with them.

Never again with them.
I had an accident, they directed me to a repair shop where they limited themselves only to fixing the damaged part without looking if there were any other problems caused by the accident. The breakdowns were and still are, warned of the problem, that is, broken air conditioning hose, they asked me to bring my car to the workshop and they would have fixed it, went to the workshop for 30 minutes and they gave me back the car, Quick I thought. Nothing had just refilled half air conditioning. and as soon as I stopped and got out of the still running car there were clear leaks on the asphalt from my car. Stay away from this insurance
Being an all inclusive customer, my fender and tire rims are ruined because of me, I made a recall, but they never made themselves heard

I had a problem with a rep at Ageas home insurance. Redealled hung on for long time granted but a very nice PROFESSIONAL man James listened done what was necessary and hey presto all done. Thank you James. This is RIAS NOT AGEAS

This company is soo bad .

This company is so bad , they has been a mix up with accounts and I end up owing money , when ask if I can just pay the owing amount, they had me open another a link with them charge me more and still after a month asked me to pay for the other account then canceled my other account when I asked why did they make me open another instead of paying the other one . Customer service is the worst . Stay far from this company. All they focus on is how they can take money from you as quick as possible. 😡

RIAS INSURANCE NOT CONTACTABLE

I have just been trying to telephone RIAS INSURANCE regarding my Home Renewal Quotation they recently sent me. I have been trying to contact them for the last 3 days and cannot get to speak to a Customer Advisor. I have made numerous calls waiting to speak to a Customer Advisor for over 45 mins per telephone call.The reason for my contact is that they have got something wrong on the Renewal Quotation and before I renew I wanted to correct this mistake. There does not seem to be sufficient staff to deal with the telephone calls from their customer base. Their automated telephone system seems to discourage you from calling and talking to Customer Advisors regarding pricing as they remind you that staff cannot deal with any pricing issues. My query is that they have put two different figures regarding the price of the insurance and I now want to pay annually not monthly.
I am not going to keep telephoning them early morning, afternoon and night as they say on their Renewal Quotation that their Telephone is 24/7, but I don't believe this anymore.
I will now be looking at alternative Insurance Companies to give my business to as RIAS don't want to talk to their Customers.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY THEY DO NOT WANT TO TALK TO CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE CONCERNS.
After 4 Days of trying to contact RIAS finally managed to speak to a Customer Advisor this morning regarding my query on my Renewal only to find that in the Renewal Price there is a £20 Fee for Renewal Administration, why when the customer is doing all the Admin to Renew themselves.
I WILL NOW BE CANCELLING AND MOVING AWAY FROM THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY

Never make a claim with Rias

Had Rias Home Insurance, very happy with the cover until I needed to make a claim.
After having a bike stolen from my shed I put in a claim and they subsequently terminated my cover.
This company is conducting racketeering in broad daylight, they take your money when you renew and terminate it when you have to make a claim, criminal.

Been waiting from 01-30 am for Roadside…

Been waiting from 01-30 am for Roadside Assistance it is now 9-15 am and still waiting they tried to send a Recovery driver who is not a Mechanic but Rias think it’s ok for him to have a look at the car !! Don’t think so Rias !!!!
PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY
