Really disappointed with the outcome I…
Really disappointed with the outcome I expected a lot more from a company like this. The amount that I was paid out was a feeble amount compared to what was initially requested from the landlord that had failed to rectify the works that need to doing in my home. 4 years of leaking roof and damp , black mould and a failure to make my home safe and I was given a paltry amount in return.
I'm thinking now of a small claims court option...... This company supposed to negotiate on my behalf and really should have informed me on the amount that was being accepted I would never have agreed.

Thank you for your review and honest feedback. We are very sorry that you are unhappy with the amount of compensation which we negotiated.
Whilst we cannot disclose the figures due to client confidentiality, the amount of compensation represented a figure which a court would likely have awarded if your case had not settled. We did advise you of the appropriate range of compensation figures and you agreed to us accepting an amount within that range. We did negotiate an increase of 50% on the original offer made on behalf of your landlord and then accepted a figure we thought was reasonable and with your prior agreement.
In addition of course, your landlord has agreed to carry out the improvements to you home and if it does not, you will be entitled to additional compensation.

Friendly but didn’t give detailed replies
As a first time buyer I didn’t have experience on the process and the terminology. On email exchanges they weren’t forth coming with information and answers were very basic and short replies. They got my exchange date wrong and offered to refund the accrued interest next day and after a week I had to chase for it. Friendly people which I couldn’t fault.

We are sorry that there were elements of our service that you weren’t happy with. Firstly, can we apologise again for the mix-up over the mortgage advance. To clarify, we did not get the date of your completion wrong, but we did request the mortgage advance from your lender several days too soon, which meant that additional interest was payable. It would have been possible to return the mortgage funds and re-request them, but that might have risked delaying the completion date by one or two days. We did not want to put you to any inconvenience and therefore we retained the funds and offered to pay the additional interest ourselves. Your house purchase was completed on 28th November and we paid the interest on 3rd December.
We are sorry that you felt that our communication was lacking. We appreciate that a house purchase is a stressful process, particularly for first time buyers, and we understand the importance of prompt communication. We do feel that we kept you fully updated and replied to any queries you had promptly, but we will be contacting you directly to ask for examples of where you feel we fell short so that we can look more closely.
