I have had a policy with this company…

I have had a policy with this company for nearly 20 years, never any problems very pleasant to deal with.
Claims are dealt with very quickly and notification of payments always follow

Poor customer service

I had a letter in mid April 2026 advising that my policy had been updated. Not knowing what this was for, I have phoned and emailed on numerous occasions since every time to be told they are busy and there is no timescale for answering my query. I think it's pretty poor, it's not a difficult thing I'm asking. And within this time my premiums have gone up by almost 60% with no pre warning.

From what you've described, it sounds as though the letter you received was confirming changes to the policy which would've most likely included an update (probably an increase) to the policy premiums. However, this is something we'd like to look into further for you. Followed by good communication feedback my claim was all sorted and paid within 3-4 days,

Everything is always easy with BHSF!

Everything is always easy with BHSF. Often you sign up and pay for these things only to be refused when the time to claim comes. Never the case with BHSF. The GP service is great too - always so helpful and understanding. I usually get a next day telephone appointment without any fuss.

VERY complex process

I find it very difficult to put claims through. There are too many stipulations and it almost feels like you do not trust the employee making the claim.

In the 'Terms Of Use' to the Online Portal (section 1 - the first section of the claims process), we state exactly what's needed for our CST to consider a claim. Unfortunately, if claims are submitted with information missing, they will be declined and require re-submitting once the missing information has been gathered.

If you have any difficulty with this or are unsure on what is being asked for, please do not hesitate to contact our Helpdesk who would be happy to clarify anything beforehand for you.
