Always a great service

Always a great service. I've been a member for nearly 20 years. I also have Westfield through work (I never claim the same thing twice) and these guys have a better service. I like the online form and the immediate email acknowledgement. Then the processing time is very quick and payout too. Better than Westfield's. Keep up the great work!

If you're finding that you're not getting value for money out of your plan, we'd suggest that you consider utilizing the policy more. All of our plans have a wide variety of benefits, so there may be something you've not tried before which may be extremely beneficial to you.

Ultimately, Health Cash Plans are there to help. If you do not feel you're getting the value out of the plan any more, while we'd be very sorry to see you leave, cancellation is an option. Some Policyholders find it better financially to save the premiums instead of being able to claim back, which we understand.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

Unfortunately, Heath Cash Plans (HCPs) do not usually operate the way you suggest. There's very few HCP providers out there who would pay for treatment directly, or in advance, as this is something which would usually fall under the realms of PMI. HCPs exist to help towards those 'every day' costs, and offer some reimbursement back.

However, in order to ensure you do not end up paying for something which you're then unable to claim towards, we'd always suggest checking the policy T&Cs, or contacting our Helpdesk directly for guidance beforehand, and happily do what we can to help.

Don’t use them

Don’t use them, they refuse to pay out for things covered like dentist and prescriptions if you haven’t got an invoice with name etc on it - how many nhs dentists give out invoices? How many pharmacies give out invoices?

Hi Jason,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and we're sorry to hear of your upset.

When claiming, Policyholder's will have to provide receipts which show all the key information we need to assess the claim. This is why we clearly state exactly what is needed in our Terms Of Use (TOU), so Policyholders know what they need to provide and can avoid having claims declined. This includes basic information such as: the Insured Person's name, confirmation the full balance has been paid, what has been purchased and the date of treatment.

Unfortunately, card/ visa receipts (the little slips obtained from anywhere when paying by card) are not accepted when submitted on their own, as they don't show a name, or what has been purchased, or if the balance was fully paid, or therapist details etc.

In future, we'd suggest you ask your dentist to provide a receipt, as BHSF receive and process thousands of claims every week for NHS dental services, where many Policyholders have been able to get a simple/ printed receipt showing everything needed. If you're ever unsure on anything though or need our help, please get in touch with our Helpdesk who will do what they can.

In order to continue providing our services and minimize any potential delays/ impact upon Policyholders, BHSF are reliant on Policyholders keeping their personal information up-to-date. Our Online Portal is set-up to help facilitate this, as it can easily be used to change email address/ phone number(s)/ home address. Our Helpdesk can also do this over the phone if preferred.

In the event the details we hold on file are incorrect/ old, this can cause problems, including delays to claims (or declined entirely). If you ever need help on this or have any questions in respect of your policy, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Helpdesk.
