The team at Martyn Gerrard in Finchley Central went above and beyond to help me sell my flat. They supported me throughout the process, and explained anything that I was unsure about. I also trusted them and their judgement, which was very important.
They helped me to stage my property and gave me helpful pointers about buyer perceptions, and fully explained the whole process. Branch Manager Zlat, along with Jatin, Yasmin and Nayeem, were all great and very professional and friendly. I always felt that they were acting in my interest, and it led to a fast and successful sale. I would definitely recommend them!

Renting through Martyn & Gerald is more stressful than managing the property yourself. They take their commission but don't look out for your interests.

Tenant references is subcontract to third parties, with no simple online verification. You have no idea whether they actually check the documents tenants provide.

No guarantee they'll honour the contract. No guarantee M&G will enforce your rights if they don't.

Expect 1-2 weeks to get a reply to a simple email, and they won't even answer half of what you ask. They'll send you photos of issues they should have already caught and fixed themselves, leaving you to waste your time on endless email back-and-forth instead of actually resolving anything.

If you use their contractors for any issue, they're overpriced, and all you'll get is a photo — nobody checks whether the work is actually done properly, or done at all.

In the end you'll have to manage the property yourself anyway, just while paying commission to a middleman who adds nothing.

Get insurance that covers property damage and eviction/legal costs instead. Save yourself the agency.

Unfortunately, our experience didn’t start well with the Martyn Gerard Muswell Hill sales team, specifically Shuhan and Chris. We felt they were dismissive of our opinions, didn’t communicate effectively with the buyer, and failed to manage the sale properly. We only discovered that the buyer had decided to purchase another property several weeks before we were due to exchange, which resulted in financial loss for us.
Working with Shuhan and Chris was extremely disappointing. They were consistently defensive and dismissive whenever we raised concerns, we felt like they wer representing the buyer and
not us Based on our experience, I would not feel confident working with either of them again.
After having to put the property back on the market (or consider renting it out), our experience improved significantly. Sheriaz from the lettings team was very helpful, and Fiona from the sales team secured us a new buyer. She managed the entire process professionally, kept everything under control, and saw the transaction through to a successful completion.
A huge thank you to Fiona. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and restored our confidence in the service.
This experience shows that it’s the individuals who make the difference, not the branch itself and Muswell Hill branch needs more people like Fiona. Customer concerns should always be listened to and treated with respect, and it was both upsetting and disappointing to be treated the way we were by Shuhan and Chris.

We are truly grateful to Martyn Gerard (Winchmore Hill branch) for their commitment to finding a buyer for a retirement flat. The owner died during the process, the original buyer pulled out and we were back to square one. Afina Shalos and Zac Theoderou were successful in finding a second buyer within a few months.
