We received confirmation of the order from Shire Buildings, and we had a slight problem getting a delivery date.
Once we received a delivery date everything was straightforward, we got a time and the ability to track the delivery and it arrived exactly as advised.

I was hesitant to purchase the summerhouse with side shed as some reviews were not the best - but I was not disappointed, the item is great, went up easily by myself & friend. I had two issues , delivered to the wrong street, was rectified with 24 hrs. We had to phone customer services during assembly as we couldn’t get the double doors pointing in the right direction but again the assistance we received (from Rob Thomas) was perfect. I would certainly recommend.

The wrong size windows were sent
The wrong size windows were sent. My contractor contacted the supplier who didn’t send the correct ones. Then I had to hire a carpenter to resize the original windows at an extra £300 because we only had a certain amount of time to complete the work before holiday guests were due to arrive at our holiday letting business.
When I contacted the supplier they were dismissive and unhelpful.

There was some minor defects in the…
There was some minor defects in the assembly process. I offered a cost effective solution (photos submitted) which the company refused to accept and prevaricated with spurious defective comments (no solution). Also shortage in supply of items which took much chasing and delay in receiving. I would not use this company in the future.

When you later raised concerns about the panel, we carefully reviewed the images provided and explained that the characteristics shown are typical of natural timber and do not affect the structural integrity of the product.
We offered to replace the affected panel entirely, and are sorry this was not to your agreement.
Regarding the missing items, replacement glazing beading was arranged and delivered to complete your order, and we kept you updated on this.

The Shire Summerhouse has been in our…
The Shire Summerhouse has been in our garden for a number of years now . The rainy weather doesn`t really help products made of wood but it still looks great . We have electricity to the summerhouse and therefore can use in darkish conditions as well as daytime . I am just replacing one door that suffered rot damage so its vital that its painted thoroughly .

After less than five years
After less than five years, our summerhouse is rotting. It was treated, primed, undercoated and painted after erection but the double doors and all the windows have rotted to a pulp. After communication with your company they have decided to exonerate themselves and have now given me a quote for replacement doors and windows … with not a penny discount! Appalling!
I’ve since had a reply back from them via Trustpilot saying it’s my fault for not treating the wood yearly. Hmmm … what do they expect people to do? Rub the whole thing back down to the bare wood and treat it, prime it, undercoat it and then top coat it with gloss paint? On a yearly basis? Really? That sounds like an impossible task and I’m afraid their product is not fit for purpose!

Our buildings are supplied dip-treated for temporary protection, and the care instructions recommend treating and maintaining the timber annually to ensure longevity. It appears this regular maintenance was not carried out, which affects the durability of the doors and windows.
